Logo design in Cardiff — a logo that works everywhere you need it
Primary mark, secondary mark, colour variations, and every file a printer, signmaker or web developer is going to ask you for. Drawn in Illustrator by a designer with twelve years behind him — not generated
// logos from £450, scope and price agreed before work starts
WHY THIS HAPPENS
Most logos fail the first time you need them somewhere new
A logo is not one picture. It is a small set of artwork that has to survive a shop front, an embroidered polo shirt, a favicon and a black background — usually years after the person who made it has moved on.
01
One file, wrong format
You were sent a JPEG. It has a white box behind it, it goes soft the moment anyone enlarges it, and the signmaker has just asked you for vector.
02
No variations
Full colour, on white, and nothing else. Nothing for a dark background, nothing that still reads at sixteen pixels, nothing single-colour for embroidery or a stamp.
03
No source artwork
You cannot hand it to a printer and you cannot hand it to the next designer. Every small change means someone starts again, and you pay for it twice.
THE OFFER
What you get, and what it costs
Three levels, all producing proper vector artwork you own and can hand to anyone. Each one includes a set number of hours, so the price is settled before I start rather than argued about at the end.
MOST POPULAR
Past the included hours, work continues at £45 an hour — agreed with you before it is spent, never after.
PROOF
Logos I have made
Electrical contractors, a dental laboratory, a record label, an exam board. The logo work sits in the portfolio alongside the print and brand guideline projects it usually comes with.
I have been the client, too
I co-founded OWE. Snowboarding in 2011 and ran it for six years — which meant designing the brand, then living with every decision I had made about it. Sourcing, packaging, retail, a website, social. It teaches you quickly which parts of a logo matter and which parts only matter to designers.
Why work with me
Twelve years in design and digital content, working in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign. Long-running clients include an exam board, where I produce covers, posters and brand guidelines for their marketing and educational resources teams.
I also do the search side. Most designers hand over a logo and leave; I can make sure the business it belongs to is findable on Google and quotable by AI assistants once the branding is done.

COMMON QUESTIONS
The things people usually ask
How much does a logo cost in Cardiff?
Signature Graphic Design charges £450 for a logo, £795 for a logo with secondary marks and colour variations, and £1,350 for a full brand identity with guidelines. Each price includes a set number of hours; beyond those, work continues at £45 an hour, agreed before it is spent.
What files do I get with my logo?
EPS, SVG and PDF, with the artwork prepared separately for print and for digital use, plus colour variations and a secondary mark if you need one. Those are the formats a printer, a signmaker and a web developer will each ask you for.
How long does a logo take?
Usually two to three weeks, depending on how fast feedback comes back
Do I own the logo once it is finished?
Yes, in full, once the final invoice is paid
Do you work with businesses outside Cardiff?
Yes. Signature Graphic Design is based in Taff's Well, just north of Cardiff, and works with businesses across Cardiff, Newport and the south Wales valleys, and remotely with clients elsewhere in the UK.
